The ending of Captain America: Winter Soldier always felt like something of a missed opportunity given that it skipped so far ahead in the timeline and wiped out not only the Howling Commandoes but also Peggy Carter (aside from an aged cameo in the sequel). But thankfully, Marvel are following up their Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. success with a trip back in time to 1946 to return to Carter's story. After the war, Carter finds herself marginalized and working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) under the guidance of Howard Stark, and we should see her take on special missions in the pursuit of one big case over the show's 8 episode run. Hayley Atwell will return for the show, which will air in January 2015, but there's no word yet that Dominic Cooper will return as Howard Stark. The Selling Point: Aside from Ant-Man, there are strong suspicions that everything Marvel touches comes in shades of gold. The Concerns: A Captain America spin-off without even the faintest chance of a Cap cameo is a missed opportunity, but hopefully we will see cameos from the other Howling Commandos.
