Status: Warner Bros. is developing a live-action Web series. Jaden Smith is likely confirmed as the star. Pitch: The well-remembered cartoon based on the comics is more likely to be used than the comics themselves, which had a continuity interlocked with other Milestone Comics series. In the cartoon, high school student Virgil Hawkins is one of a number of locals mutated by an event known as The Big Bang (not unlike the plot eventually used in The Flash). He uses his electric super-powers to fight criminals, mutated and otherwise, along with his super-mechanic best friend Gear. Odds of Success Onscreen: Fairly strong. There's an audience that remembers the Static Shock cartoon, but it's not so recent that they haven't had time to miss it. Jaden Smith's behavior has sometimes been erratic, however, and this show will need his A-game.
