3. Herr Starr Is Comedy Gold

Preacher has seen many antagonists over the course of its three-season run, but Herr Starr is certainly one of a kind. The character played a massive role in the second season but was understandably absent from the Season 3 premiere, as the focus was on Tulip's resurrection. Starr made an unforgettable return in Sonsabitches, as he shot up a place of worship in a scene that was filmed in the style of an old Western movie.

Starr was as humorous as ever - perhaps even more so - as almost every line that came out of his mouth was hilarious. His humour is dark, there's no denying that, and the unpredictability of what will come out of his mouth next is what makes him such a great antagonist. But much of Starr's humour is down to actor Pip Torrens and his wonderful delivery of the tyrant's lines.

As great as Preacher is on its own, the show would be a considerably duller place without Starr.
