Said to be incredibly painful when rewriting the user's biology, the chameleon arch often required an extra person to help protect the user, as they would be incredibly vulnerable once their biology was rewritten; the arch wasn't without its faults, but it really was an impressive gadget that The Doctor used to their advantage.
