5 Characters That Prove Game Of Thrones Is A Feminist Show

2. Arya Stark

arya-stark-1024 Another Stark comes in at number two, but this time it's one of the girls. Right from the first time we meet her in the pilot episode we know she will be unlike most other characters on TV. She instantly shows her dominance by besting her brother Bran at archery. This shows that she will push the boundaries of what is expected of young girls. Throughout the whole show she has consistently been told she should be acting as a little girl should and she consistently has defied this. From her 'dancing' lessons with Syrio Forel in series one, her execution of the stable boy (for which the performance of Maisie Williams quite rightly earned high praise) right through to her steely resolve to get revenge on those who have wronged her in the latest series, Arya has pushed the boundaries of what is expected of her gender and this makes her a prime character for this list.
