5 Doctor Who Actors Who Haven't Quite Made It To Hollywood
5. Jenna Coleman
OK, so she hasn't left Doctor Who yet, but Jenna Coleman's attempts to launch a career in the US didn't go as planned when she only really managed to secure a guest role as Connie in the 2011 Marvel blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger. Well, perhaps calling it a 'guest role' is a bit generous - it's more of a 'blink and you'll miss her' sort of thing. It's a good job she came back to the UK, though, because otherwise she wouldnt have landed the string of roles in dramas such as Dancing on the Edge and Titanic which led to her being cast as the Doctors coveted new companion, Clara Oswald, in 2012. After two years in the TARDIS Jenna has firmly established herself as an on screen force to be reckoned with - she's even dropped the 'Louise' from her name to prove she's now serious business - so something tells us the Stateside offers will come flooding in when she eventually leaves the world of Doctor Who behind. The fact the series is now more popular than ever in the US will no doubt act in her favour, too, as its so far been working a charm for her predecessor Karen Gillan. Just when Clara will call it a day is anyones guess for the time being. t looked like her time had come at the end of the this year's series but shes always been one to keep us guessing. Shell be back in Series 9 next year so there's still life in the impossible girl yet, though just how much life remains seen.
