5 Doctor Who Actors Who Haven't Quite Made It To Hollywood
4. Freema Agyeman
When Freema Agyeman left Doctor Who (the first time) she continued to establish herself as one of Britain's finest acting talents by enjoying parts in Little Dorrit and the short lived dystopian drama Survivors before landing another leading role in 2009's ITV adaptation of the US police procedural Law & Order: UK. She also made a string of inevitable returns to the show that made her a household name, as well as a guest stint in its spin off Torchwood, before setting her sights on America. In retrospect, though, she would've been better staying in the UK and joining the campaigns for a Martha Jones spin off. In 2013 she landed a recurring role as the "hip, British, cutting-edge style editor" Larissa Loughlin in HBO's Sexy and the City prequel The Carries Diaries but what should've been her American dream ultimately fizzled into nothingness when the show was critically panned and cancelled after just two seasons. She's been given another crack at the whip, though, as a supporting character in the upcoming sci-fi series Sense8 which will be streamed exclusively on Netflix in 2015. It's been created by the team behind The Matrix (make of that what you will) and "revolves around eight strangers from different parts of the world who suddenly become mentally and emotionally linked" so the concept alone sounds pretty promising. Let's hope it's got legs.
