Turmoil, anarchy and the rise of the Proletariat yes, Russia, Petrograd and the October Revolution of 1917 provides the perfect backdrop for a brilliant Who episode that will wow spectators. The Doctor would be thrust headfirst into a city which has been taken by force Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, Leon Trotsky et al have stormed the Tsars Winter Palace and assumed control of Russia in the name of the soviets. Meanwhile, elsewhere in Europe the Great War is still a year away from an armistice and the Triple Entente is no more due to Russias withdrawal from the conflict leaving a tired Britain and a broken France desperately trying to hold off the German onslaught as they wait for the Americans to finally come to their aid. With the world seemingly coming apart at the seams, and an intervention from an other-worldly spiritual presence threatening to hijack the revolution, force an internally squabbling-Russian nation without an obvious leader back into the war on the side of the Germans and as a result create the Grossdeutschland desired by Kaiser Wilhelm II, it is up to the Doctor and Clara to rescue the future of Europe. War, revolution and an inconspicuous but extremely dangerous extra-terrestrial spiritual presence now what a Doctor Who episode that would make for. Sign me up right now!
