5 Returning TV Shows That Improved This Season and 5 That Got Worse

2. Fringe Season 5

fringe poster I really enjoyed Fringe in its first three seasons, but after season 4 things quickly became messy. This show is even arguably messier than Lost was past its forth season, and that really is saying something. So many interesting plot points that made me fall in love with Fringe have been completely removed or forgotten from the show. Olivia, the main protagonist, used to have special abilities and because of this she used to be special... now, for reasons I can't even recall she no longer has these abilities and because of this she has become increasingly less and less interesting. Season 5 of Fringe is kind of like what a whole season of Buffy The Vampire Slayer would have been like if Buffy had no superpowers.... pretty boring. Also, the show has so many alternative timeliness that I am beginning to forget and loose track of who the characters are anymore. After Peter disappeared from existence and then reappeared, all of the characters changed and had no knowledge of who Peter was... so really, the characters we fell in love with in the first two seasons no longer really exist. Also, I personally hated the fact that the creators introduced Peter and Olivia's grown up daughter, only to kill her off really quickly before I could even be bothered to care who she was. The show clearly really wants the audience to be upset that their child died, but honestly, I really really am not.

I am a recent Screenwriting for Film and Television graduate from the UK. I am an unashamed geek who loves everything Marvel, and anything Joss Whedon has ever touched (except for maybe Alien Resurrection and Titan A.E). My current favorite TV shows are Breaking Bad, Family Guy, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, Homeland and Glee. I look forward to debating things with all of you in the future.
