5 Star Trek Actors Who Are NOT Returning For Picard Season 3

5. Santiago Cabrerra

Star Trek Picard Rios Farewell
CBS

Santiago Cabrerra's Captain Rios seems to have hung up his tricorder for good, as the season finale of Star Trek: Picard sees him staying behind in the 21st century on Earth. While this might not be a final appearance, particularly if flashbacks are utilized, it does seem to be the end of the road in terms of his relationship with Picard.

On returning to the 25th century, Picard and Guinan speak about Rios. She details his life, suggesting he survived the third world war, but that he was killed in a bar fight in Morroco while trying to secure medical supplies for Teresa's clinic. A truly heroic end for the man - with end being the important word there.

While it now seems entirely unlikely that Picard will meet him again, Cabrerra celebrated the experience, calling his time on the show a hell of a ride. He is booked as a recurring actor on HBO's The Flight Attendant, which was filmed while Picard season three was in production. With that being the case, it seems unlikely that we will hear Rios order the Stargazer to dalé again. It was, indeed, a hell of a ride.
