5 Star Trek Actors Who Are NOT Returning For Picard Season 3

3. Wil Wheaton

Star Trek Picard Wesley Crusher
CBS

The return of Wesley Crusher to Star Trek broke the internet. Honestly - the sounds of the shards dropping is still fresh in folks' ears, but Wheaton has already shot down the idea that he will appear in season three of Picard.

He wrote a blog post on his website explaining that this may be the beginning of Wesley's adventures with Kore, but that they will not be appearing in Picard again. He expressed hope that some of the other properties, like Discovery or Lower Decks, could yet feature them. The nature of the Traveler's existence is such that time truly has no meaning.

The announcement of the return of the rest of the TNG cast sparked intense debate as to whether Wheaton would return, so his appearance in the finale was a clever bait and switch for those wondering. While this may be the last time, for now, that Wesley appears in live-action, it remains a more satisfying appearance than his cut scene from Star Trek: Nemesis.
