1. Paul McGillion aka Dr. Carson Beckett Christmas Magic
Dr Carson Beckett, played by Paul McGillion, was the Scottish doctor in charge of the medical unit on Atlantis. Originally meant to be a guest character the friendly medic soon became a fan favourite, so much so that the character was resurrected as a clone after being killed off in a previous season. In Christmas Magic the actor stars as widowed restaurant owner and single parent Scott Walker, who is helped by an angel called Carrie Bishop, played by Lindy Booth. Previously an ambitious event planner until an unfortunate car accident, Carrie has been assigned by fellow angel Henry to help Scott revitalise his failing business. Despite being a typical Christmas romance with a rather stereotypical workaholic protagonist, the film has enough charm and Christmas lights to stand out as one of the better Christmas television movies. Paul McGillion does a good job in his role, though Stargate Atlantis fans who haven't seen him out of the Dr Beckett character might be a little surprised to hear him with an American rather than Scottish one - as the actor is able to switch between the two. Best line from the film: Carrie: Shouldn't I have wings or something? Henry: Trust me you wouldn't want them. They snag on everything. It's murder trying to get into a compact car.
