2. Jewel Staite aka Dr. Jennifer Keller - Call Me Mrs Miracle

Although Jewel Staite is probably best known for her role as Kaylee in Firefly, she also appeared in later series of Stargate Atlantis as Dr Jennifer Keller, who takes over as head of the medical staff after the death of another character and quickly becomes a love interest for Dr McKay. In this movie, Call Me Mrs Miracle, Jewel Staite plays the kind and slightly ditzy Holly Wilson, who is looking after her nephew over Christmas whilst her brother is away with the army. Holly is one of several characters who end up being helped by Mrs Miracle, a mysterious old lady who suddenly appears in the toy department at Finely's, and who's little suggestions and nudges help everyone get the Christmas they wished for - whether that's helping Holly meet Jake Finely, the young manager of the store, or helping Jake confront his father, J.R. Finley about their sad Christmas past. Staite has a good screen presence, especially when she plays cheerful, quirky characters like this one, which why fans of both Firefly and Stargate might notice that the character is closer to the cheerfulness of Kaylee, than the more serious nature of Keller.
