5 TV Revivals That Were Worth The Wait

Way before Netflix's streaming service was even a thing, BBC decided to bring back one of telly's most popular ever series'. Doctor Who returned in 2005 - a whopping 16 years after the original series ended - and was an immediate hit around the world.

Armed with a great cast - and the superb Russell T. Davies at the helm - the revival series was as brilliant as could be, and the illustrious Doctor fitted in very nicely in a modern day setting.

It makes no odds whether you've prefered Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi or Jodie Whittaker, as every actor who has stepped into The Doctor's shows since the series returned to screens has brought something very original to the role and, although the scripts haven't been quite as compelling since Davies' departure, the beloved series is still going as strong as ever today.
