5 TV Revivals That Were Worth The Wait

1. Twin Peaks

When it comes to television injustices, few could compete with Twin Peaks' unfair and abrupt cancellation back in 1991 - after only two seasons on the air. In spite of its short run, however, the David Lynch series is considered one of TV's all-time greats.

Lynch would be given the opportunity to continue his unique story in 2017, which oddly worked incredibly well from a narrative point of view. The revival series wasn't what viewers were expecting at all, because it was so much more.

With a slow narrative progression, multiple timelines and narrative threads running concurrently - not to mention the piece of television history that is its eighth episode - Twin Peaks: The Return is simply beyond description - which is one of the many elements that makes it so spectacular.

Despite Lynch having had the opportunity to finish the story this time around, in a twisted sort of irony the visionary opted to end his tale on yet another cliffhanger - one that was arguably even bigger than the previous. Unlike the previous one, however, this ending was far from abrupt - and was just about as Lynchian as one could get. A masterpiece in every way possible.
