5 TV Shows That Disappointed After Initial Brilliance

2. Community €“ Season 4

Community Dan Harmon called it €œan impression, and an unflattering one.€ I can€™t argue with the guy on that one. Season 4 of Community took the parts of the show that everybody loved €“ the witty parodies that actually had a point and Abed€™s oddness, among others €“ and exploited them. For a comedy, it did a pretty terrible job of actually being funny for almost half of the season. I don€™t think I laughed until episode 3. Don€™t get me wrong, there were good episodes €“ €œAlternative History of the German Invasion€ and €œEconomics of Marine Biology€ stick out in particular €“ but, on the whole, the season was a disappointment. But if it wasn€™t for these episodes, as well as Jim Rash€™s incredible and consistent portrayal of the Dean, the season would have been a complete waste of time. And that puppet episode. That awful puppet episode. It was one of the worst episodes of a good TV show that I think I€™ve ever seen, and it taints my view of the entire season.
