Vaguely titled, The Event, unlike some of the shows on this list, actually managed to air a full season of 22 episodes before being canned. After just seven of these episodes, however, ratings had fallen to almost half of their peak, plummeting to below average levels. The titular event involves the crash of an extraterrestrial spacecraft in Alaska after World War II, the inhabitants of which share 99% of their DNA with the human race, allowing those who weren€™t captured by the authorities to blend into society. In the present day, a new President reveals the existence of said beings to the world, but finds himself the target of an assassination attempt, foiled by alien technology that the CIA then begins to investigate, seeking to capture and detain the extraterrestrials without knowing how deep they have infiltrated the government and society in general. Despite posing an array of questions, ratings began to slip further and further below average, sealing the show€™s fate.
