5 Under-Appreciated TV Shows You Should Be Watching

3. The League

The League After binging on Arrested Development€™s fourth season with my free month of Netflix, I thought it would be a crime not to at least browse what else was available. That€™s when I found The League. The show centres on a group of friends and their fantasy football league. Now, I€™m no American football fan. I don€™t know the rules or how to play it, anything about it really. But that€™s not a hindrance to your enjoyment of the show. Not at all. The premise focuses on the fantasy football league, but this acts as a reason to get these characters together and experiment by trading quick fire quips. IMDb states that the show is semi-scripted, which makes The League that much more impressive. The humour feels authentic and genuine. There are a bunch of shows out there that focus on the male relationship, Entourage for example. But with The League, you really get a sense of this camaraderie, dare I say, more so than Entourage. The constant attempts to outdo one another often land the characters in hilarious situations, creating an entertaining programme all around. As I€™ve said, the premise largely takes a back seat, which means that you can sit back and enjoy the authentic manner in which these characters interact with one another, without having any knowledge of American football at all.
