5 Ups & 2 Downs From Doctor Who Series 12 - The Haunting Of Villa Diodati

2. A Darker Doctor

13th Doctor
BBCmn

The Doctor was stuck between a rock and hard place when deciding what to do with the Cyberium within Percy Shelley. It was either kill him and save billions in the future, or allow him to survive, killing those billions in the future. Ryan was quick to dive in and suggest the one over the billions, which by rule of numbers would make more sense. However, the death of Shelley could see huge changes to the future, even to the extent that our companions would cease to exist.

The Doctor, stuck with an impossible decision, monologues about this team structure not being flat, and that there are times where not even she can win. She went with the decision that could still be saved in the future, but resulting in her companions potentially distancing themselves from her. This Doctor is determined to get the best out of an impossible situation, and won't let any measly human do the thinking for her. This anger, this energy we see from Jodie is hopefully going to stay throughout the course of the series, as this hard-to-swallow moment is but one of many to come...

Born in Theatre, sits at a Computer. After over a decade of tinkering with Video Editing software, Rich gets to spend his precious time editing whatever's thrown at him. Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
