5 Ways Sherlock Has Proved To Be More Human In Season 3

2. Archie In "The Sign Of Three"

I think by now we have all figured out that Sherlock is on the autism spectrum, most likely he has Asperger€™s Syndrome. For anyone who doesn€™t know, it€™s someone who displays many of the same traits as Sherlock. They€™re not very social. They€™re normally incredibly good at one or a few things. They forget nothing. So yes, saying that Sherlock has Asperger€™s wouldn€™t exactly the be the shock of the century. Which is what made Sherlock paying attention to the ring bearer so wonderful. Sherlock saw something of himself in Archie €“ most likely something with Archie wanting to see photos of dead people €“ that made him allow Archie achieve trust that many people didn€™t with Sherlock. When Archie had an idea of who the killer was, Sherlock immediately looked at Archie and took him seriously. He wasn€™t humouring the child or addressing the child to keep him quiet €“ he took a serious interest in what Archie had to say. For anyone who wanted to see Sherlock as a father, we got it in this scene. He was able to connect with Archie on a level €“ albeit weird - and get him to do what his mother wanted by cooperating with him and listening to him. While so many people, including Sherlock himself could never see himself as a father, he held that role with Archie, and did a fantastic job. Most likely this could come out of a lifetime of not being listened to as a child and not wanting to pass that on €“ but still, it€™s character development.

I'm currently attending my local college while trying to figure out who I am. I love Doctor Who, Sherlock, really any BBC show. I've also been told I'm a bit of a nerd. Specifically, a theatre nerd.
