5. "Wouldn't It Be Great If We Could Always Talk?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxcU5VNDNpk Steven Moffat's been claiming that 'The Day of the Doctor' is a game-changer for the show. This is the story that will change his life forever, the one that's centered around him. But in reality, 'The Doctor's Wife' changed the Doctor's life just two years ago. The scenes where the Doctor gets to talk to his first love, the TARDIS, are not only hugely insightful and massively fun, but they're brilliantly well-written. Neil Gaiman manages to perfectly capture an entire relationship rapidly approaching its golden anniversary, with lines as simple as "I always took you where you needed to go." And the twist of the TARDIS stealing a Time Lord to see the universe - as he was the only one mad enough - is just a beautiful piece of scriptwriting. 4. The TARDIS Dematerialises For the First Time
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRsfKK34SFY I've got a theory on this one: the Doctor doesn't look or sound all that surprised that the TARDIS is still a Police Box when it lands. I mean, either it really was a shock that the chameleon circuit broke... or maybe he knows more than he's saying and he just loves that classic design. This is a scene though that every Doctor Who fan must watch. It's the start of the Doctor's first adventure, and he starts as he means to go on: not entirely sure where he's going, but willing to go wherever. 3. The Fury And The Kindness Of The Time Lord
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfGWRccHLRY The Tenth Doctor loved humans so much, he became one for a while. It's a masterpiece of an episode, and in this scene, we see the real difference between the godly Time Lords and the human side of the Doctor. Without so much as saying a word, the Doctor slays one of the most fearsome adversaries of his tenth incarnation; he used to be so forgiving, but now, he'd been pushed too far. There had been one too many wars against him. The last of the Time Lords ran away because he being kind, and in a twisted way, he punished the Family kindly, too. 2. "That's Who I Am."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rakbBSX_suA It hardly felt like the same show when 'Rose' hit our screens, and a shaven-headed Mancunian told her to run for her life. We were all wondering what kind of Time Lord Christopher Eccleston would be, but in this glimpse into his mind, we see that he really is the Doctor. He opens up to tell Rose about how his mind works, and he holds her hand, ready to leave with her to show her the universe. It's so brilliantly acted by Eccleston; the timing of the delivery, the wonder of it all in his eye, and then he lets go. That's all we're getting for now. Russell T Davies is often criticised for his camp melodrama, but in this moment, he struck a perfect chord. And the winner is...
