20. Rigsby - Rising Damp
The landlord everyone loves to hate, Rigsby was a dour, tight-fisted right wing sometimes-bigot, with prejudiced views and a parochial attitude that was used to comic, if not quite exploitative effect in the excellent Rising Damp. Crucially Rigsby was always painted as the fool - a character type as old as time - but just as we thought he was utterly unsympathetic a spark of humanity would remind us exactly why we loved him so much.
19. Baldrick- Blackadder
Baldrick is the collective name given to all the servants to Blackadder throughout his many incarnations throughout history. Baldrick is normally remembered for his catchphrase, "I have a cunning plan," which are thought up by him as a solution to a problem, but are often criticized by Blackadder, though he will use these when times are desperate. Blackrick has a goal however, which is attempting to raise is social standing throughout history, even though Blackadder always comes out more successful.
18. Dwight- The Office
Dwight is dim witted but somehow managed to rise up the ranks to head salesman within Dunder Mifflin. Despite his lack of social skills he is shown to have a keen interest in various activities such as karate, weapons and surveillance. Dwight often has a rivalry with fellow salesman Jim.
17. Manuel- Fawlty Towers
Manuel is the Spanish waiter of Fawlty Towers and often sees himself at the mercy of Basil the owner due to Manuel's lack of grasp of the English language. Manuel was hired due to being cheap labor and has a lot of catchphrases such as "I know nothing" and by simply replying with "sí" or "qué?" when asked a question. This has helped make him one of the most recognizable British sitcom characters.
16. Joey Tribbiani- Friends
Joey was a struggling actor before finding fame in the sitcom Days of Our Lives. He is known for his love of food and his womanizing ways. He has spawned one of the most infamous pickup lines in TV- "How you doing?" as well as being known for the fact that he does not share food.
