6 Game Of Thrones Characters Everyone Hates

3. Viserys Targaryen

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf0EDfgi2Uo Viserys Targaryen laid claim to be the rightful ruler of King's Landing and the Seven Kingdoms after his father Aerys Targaryen was killed by Jamie Lannister at the end of Robert Baratheon's revolt. While Robert Baratheon assumed the Iron Throne in his place, Viserys, exiled after the rebellion, succeeded in deposing his family, yet does not recognise Baratheon's legitimacy, instead referring to Robert as "The Usurper". In an attempt to reclaim the Iron Throne, Viserys marries his younger sister Daenerys to Khal Drogo, a vicious Dothraki warlord that promises a large enough army to Viserys in exchange for Daenerys. However, while Daenerys and Khal Drogo get married, Drogo doesn't complete the deal, insisting that Daenerys gives him an heir before Viserys gets his army. However, in the waiting period, Viserys grows ever restless and impatient, and believes that Drogo intends to renege on their deal, causing Viserys to lash out at Daenerys and her hand maidens, infuriating the Dothraki. Viserys' whiny attitude and impatience with the Khal Drogo and the Dothraki are generally looked down upon by fans of the series, and Viserys comes off as a child. In the end, Drogo delivers on his promise of a golden crown for Viserys, however, instead of restoring Viserys to the Iron Throne, Drogo gets two of his men to pin Viserys down while Khal Drogo pours hot melted gold onto Viserys' head, killing him.
