6 Major Daredevil And Jessica Jones Reveals From New York Comic Con

5. Jessica Jones' Surprising Link To Iron Fist

Because Daredevil was still in the early stages of production during last year's New York Comic Con, Marvel was able to reveal a long list of casting updates and plot details for the series. This year however, Jessica Jones has obviously wrapped, Daredevil is well under way (though there's still no word on Bullseye...), and Luke Cage's cast has been already been revealed due to shooting starting on that a month or two ago. There was no word on Iron Fist during the panel - it was reported earlier this year that Marvel are finding that property a tough nut to crack, so that might explain why - but one very surprising tie to his world was revealed. Up until now, Carrie Anne Moss' role in Jessica Jones has remained a mystery, but the panel for the upcoming series brought word that she'll be playing a character called Jeryn Hogarth. Doesn't ring a bell? Don't worry, he's (that's right, they've gender swapped the role) a pretty obscure character, despite a fairly major tie to Iron Fist. In the comics, Hogarth was a lawyer who worked for Wendell Rand. After Wendell's death, he became the executor of his estate and kept Wendell's son Iron Fist under surveillance after his return to the US, hiring Colleen Wing and Misty Knight to contact him and verify that he was truly Wendell's son due to the fact that Danny Rand had spent years training in the mystical land of K'un-Lun before resurfacing in New York. It's easy to imagine something similar playing out with Moss' version of the character, but with no solid update on Iron Fist, who knows how long it will be before we get to see this cool little nod come to fruition.
