6 Major Daredevil And Jessica Jones Reveals From New York Comic Con

2. A Bad-Ass Elektra

When season two of Daredevil was confirmed, there were three characters who everyone was hoping would be included: Elektra, The Punisher, and Bullseye. Unfortunately, despite rumours that Jason Statham was at one point being courted for the role, there's been no word on the latter, so chances are that Marvel could be saving him for a third season. Regardless, the other two playing a key role in season two is reason enough to be counting down the days until the show returns to Netflix, and Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) quickly went about proving why she's the right choice to play Matt Murdock's former flame turned deadly assassin during her appearing at this panel at the New York Comic Con. Pointing out that he's a black belt of karate and that she's studied Muay Thai, the actress revealed that she's pretty sure what landed her the role was telling everyone in the room at her audition that she could kick their asses! Yung also went on to describe taking on the role of Elektra as being "intense" and "exciting", and seeing what she brings to the show no doubt promises to be a lot of fun. Going back to that footage description though, and it's interesting that Elektra places her trademark red bandanna over the lower half of her face instead of the upper half (where it's always been depicted in the comic books). Of course, when you actually think about it, that makes perfect sense as it means that the assassin is able to conceal her identity. Oh, and no, that's not Yung as Elektra above but rather her as G.I. Joe's Jinx. It's easy to see why she landed the role though, right?
