6 Scarlet Witch Comics You Need To Read Before WandaVision

2. House Of M

Scarlet Witch Adi Granov
Marvel Comics

After the events of the Avengers Disassembled storyline, Scarlet Witch ends up warping reality in a way that she hopes will bring everyone their greatest desires.

Magneto is the leader of a mutant Utopia, Genosha, and, quite troublingly, is achieving his dream of mutant superiority on Earth. Carol Danvers becomes Captain Marvel, America's most beloved hero; Steve Rogers is a normal old war veteran, and Spider-Man is a celebrity happily married to Gwen Stacy. All the Scarlet Witch wants for herself is to revive her lost children, Thomas and William.

Wolverine, who notices the world has changed, enlightens a group of fellow heroes to eventually confront Wanda and convince her to return the world to normal. Unfortunately, the confrontation does not go well, ending with Scarlet Witch's utterance of what has become her most iconic line:

"No more Mutants."

While the world is returned to mostly normal, there is one dramatic difference: the vast majority of the world's mutants have lost their powers. Worse, Wanda is missing, so no-one can convince her to fix things.

With the sitcom world of WandaVision possibly being a pocket reality of Wanda's own creation, many fans have theorised that House of M is the comic from which the show will take most of its inspiration.
