6 Supporting TV Characters Who Stole The Show (And 3 Who Never Should Have)
5. Alex Danvers - Supergirl
Supergirl may be all about the Girl of Steel's adventures, but that didn't stop her beloved sister, Alex Danvers, from stealing some of that super-powered spotlight.
Strong-willed, kind-hearted and every bit as resilient as her sister, Alex has been a regular presence on the show right from the start, and her job as a government agent (and later director) of the D.E.O. ensured that she was also involved in almost all of the major storylines. Thus, not only was she always on our screens, she kicked almost as much ass as Kara.
However, what separates Alex from other supporting Arrowverse characters is the continuous exploration of her backstory that the writers continue to gift us with throughout each season. Underneath that determined and firm exterior, is a real human being who, in the last four seasons, has undergone more development than anyone else on the show - as she came to terms with her sexuality and advocated for her long-running desire to be a strong, independent mother.
On a show overflowing with aliens and metahumans, Alex is 100% unashamedly human - and that is what ultimately sets her apart from the rest.
