7 Cancelled TV Shows That Deserve A Kickstarter Project

3. Heroes (2006)

heroes_tv_show-600x300 If it weren€™t for a terrible second season that was deeply affected by a writes strike, Heroes would still be one of the most watched and successful shows on television. Created by Tim Kring (Touch) in 2006, Heroes was every comic book fan€™s fantasy. The show asked the question, what if normal people were given super powers? The shows first season was a wonderfully complex and beautifully written. Each episode gave the viewers very few answers and even more questions that kept them glued to the television each week. The first season was a smash hit for NBC, and was one of their most watched programs. As I mentioned before, the second season didn€™t match the level of excellence that the first season achieved. The amount of viewers dropped immensely between the two seasons, but the show still had enough energy to produce two more seasons. The show was beginning to come back to form with its fourth season, leaving on an amazing cliffhanger that would have changed the format of the show greatly. Unfortunately NBC cancelled the program before viewers would ever be able to see what was going to happen next. Kring promised the fans years ago that he would give them some closure in one way or another. Flash-forward to 2013, another much-loved series Veronica Mars successfully reaches its 2 million dollar Kickstarter goal in less than 24 hours to finance a feature film which would continue from where the series left off. Now the rumors are circulating that Microsoft is attempting to bring Heroes back and stream it through their Xbox Live service. This is fantastic new for fans of the series and I believe that the show had a great number of stories left to tell. Hopefully Microsoft will do everything in their power to get the original cast and crew on board with the new iteration.
