7 Community Alumni Who Went On To Work In Sci-Fi

Remedial Chaos Theory changed the game. The third episode of season 3 (though it was accidentally aired as the fourth) introduced The Darkest Timeline, Evil Troy and Evil Abed, and Pierce's Norwegian Troll Doll, which still haunts Troy's nightmares. The episode, which follows six alternate timelines Jeff creates when he proposes rolling a die to determine who will go get the pizza, never has a dull moment.

Remedial Chaos Theory garnered an impressive Emmy nomination for its writer, Chris McKenna. McKenna wrote ten episodes of Community, and has since moved onto bigger, or in some cases smaller, projects.

McKenna has penned three films for the MCU: Spider-Man: Homecoming (which features a cameo by Donald Glover), Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Both Ant-Man and the Wasp and Spider-Man: Far From Home toy with the idea of alternate timelines, just like Remedial Chaos Theory. However, Evil Peter and Evil Scott don't sound like they'd be as much fun as Evil Troy and Evil Abed.

McKenna also wrote a few other sci-fi projects, such as the surprisingly clever Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the animated kids film Igor, and The Lego Batman Movie, which sounds like a hybrid of three of Abed's favourite things: Legos, Batman, and Movies.
