7 Reasons We Need Hannibal Season 4

7. The Show Wasn't Slowing Down

Here's the thing about shows that were cancelled before their time - they very rarely exhibit any signs of decline. Hence the whole "before their time" thing.

While this may be a blessing in disguise, saving viewers from the prospect of a series overstaying its welcome, it's seldom comfort when a show is so consistently brilliant, and the prospect of a duff season seems almost absurd.

Hannibal was still in its prime when NBC announced its cancellation midway through its third season. The show had been struggling ratings-wise for sometime, but what it ostensibly lacked in popularity it more than made up for with quality.

From start to finish, Hannibal was sleek, stylish, gruesome, and stupidly compelling. It masterfully reimagined Harris' novels, and Season 3 was particularly brilliant in that regard, juggling the events of both Red Dragon and Hannibal to a satisfying (and bloody) end.

Hannibal rarely ever faltered, and it's plainly obvious to every fan that it still had plenty left to give even after its conclusion.
