7 Reasons Why Better Call Saul Is Better Than Breaking Bad
4. It Is The Base For Everything Yet To Come In Breaking Bad
Better Call Saul's own purpose was to originally make Breaking Bad better by expanding everything so that when we met Walt & Jesse back at the beginning, it would be the first chapter to a dense prologue. Much like what The Hobbit is to The Lord Of The Rings.
That was lost somewhere on the fans when many of them forgot that Breaking Bad was actually the crux of the story and the whole Bad Universe actually became more of a wide-ranging tale of Albuquerque than an immediate precursor to bolster Breaking Bad.
Yes, it sets up all that comes along, but Breaking Bad is no longer the punchline to a prequel. What Better Call Saul now represents is an equal part in a far larger story.
Taking into account everything that has happened, from Chuck McGill's death to Lalo Salamanca's attempted assassination, Walter White's underpants through to Jesse's escape from New Mexico. Where we once believed that Better Call Saul was a great set up to a great series, now it is seen as the start of a huge story, one that nobody was prepared for when they first announced Saul as the spin-off.
