Breaking Bad's writing squad was unquestionably the stuff of dreams, everything felt realised and accounted for when the final credits rolled, and nobody will ever question any decision that they made whilst creating the show. Vince Gilligan's masterpiece was always served by his vision.

Now, yes, any competition between the shows is a little futile because they are both the vision of Vince Gilligan, Saul also has Peter Gould to thank for its creation, but it all stems from Gilligan's own mind originally. However, Saul just has the better quality of writing to it. It twists and turns more than Breaking Bad ever did and never feels convoluted in the process.

As well as the overall story, Saul's dialogue is just better too. It has to be more dense in its representation of the law and the several courtroom scenes that take place over the run of the show, as well as covering the drug world and the underground that comes with the Bad universe territory.

Better Call Saul is more diverse and rich in colour than Breaking Bad ever really got to show, something that becomes more noticeable as the series keeps going forward and keeps on flouting the boundaries that it once seemed shackled by.
