7 Times The Arrowverse Missed The Mark

4. Magical Creatures

DC's Legends of Tomorrow promised something big when John Constantine dumped a dragon’s head on the beach of Aruba. This was Legends' making a statement that they’d be introducing magical characters in Season Three.

The issue here isn't that the show didn’t deliver on this promise, it’s more the fact that they did it in the wrong way.

Instead of using some of the more interesting DC characters who could have been at their disposal, DC's Legends of Tomorrow opted to use the stereotypical Fairy Godmother and Unicorn just for the sake of comedy.

With the first two seasons of the show still having a large element of seriousness to them, Season Three is when things started to get a little too light-hearted and silly - with Legends of Tomorrow starting being more about satire than saving the world.

DC have a roster of amazing magical characters - such Black Orchid, Spectre and Phantom Stranger - so it’s insane that, for example, they used Swamp Thing as a spoof character. Using some other choices from their established roster could have given some of these characters their first time to be in a live-action project. The frustrating thing is, characters like Enchantress and Spectre have popped up in future seasons, hammering home the fact that there are magical beings within the Arrowverse.
