7 TV Shows That Improved In 2019 (And 3 That Got Worse)

1. Game Of Thrones

It's a pretty safe bet to assume that this time last year none of us would have expected Game Of Thrones to end up on any 'Worst Of' lists - and why would we? The HBO juggernaut had gone from strength-to-strength over the past decade as it broke records and entertained audiences with cinematic-level feats, so if there was ever a show destined to go out on an explosive high, surely this was it. Instead, it crashed and burned.

A show that usually took its time progressing storylines, the eighth and final season instead opted to have things happen overnight with little-to-no explanation as to how or why they happened in the way that they did. In addition to this, years of character development was wasted for nothing more than shock value, and this all resulted in a string of disappointing episodes - each one worse than the one that came before it - setting the stage for one of the most underwhelming series finales in TV history.

It's a common misconception that fans didn't like the final season because they weren't happy with what went down, but that wasn't the case at all. They didn't buy what went down because the work wasn't put in to make these baffling events believable. And because of that, a show that annually made an explosive impact fizzled out without so much as a spark.
