7 TV Shows That Improved In 2019 (And 3 That Got Worse)

Shows That Got Worse...

3. Jessica Jones

Jessica Jones Season 3 Finale
Netflix

2019 marked the end of a TV era as the Marvel Netflix saga came to a premature end following the streaming service's cancellation of every Marvel show it produced. And the last of them to bow out was everyone's favourite private investigator herself, Jessica Jones.

There was a lot to admire about the third season of the noir detective series as Krysten Ritter was once again radiant in her performance as the sarcastic PI and the conflict between Jessica Jones and Trish Walker was, for the most part, engaging. That being said, the show did struggle to match the heights of its critically-acclaimed debut offering and was also incapable of outdoing its fairly decent follow-up.

A season that continued its decline in standard, it highlighted some of the issues that later seasons of the Marvel Netflix shows all suffered from, such as lack of focus and too many episodes, and all of that unfortunately resulted in the gritty shared universe ending on a disappointing note.
