This must have been the pitch for Love Life, because Kendrick's sweet and bubbly personality shines through in this series that is well put together and tells a tale that traverses decades to really get to the core of this young woman and what she has to deal with in life.
Her messed-up love life is the focus but her as a person is far more interesting as we explore her depths in great detail.
Over the years that we see, Darby navigates herself with, at first, youthful abandon and later a more reserved and adult approach to her problems and her varied love life.
If you really want to see a series that is full of charm and sweetness, yet has a dark edge that hides away in the background, then this is the show for you. Kendrick really pushes her own brand of Anna Kendrick-ness but twists it to the struggles and beauty of the modern world without ever losing sight of the humour required to pull off such a character.
