8 Bizarre TV Pilots That Were Doomed To Fail

6. Steel Justice

Okay...cards on the table. That previous entry about Poochinski wasn't the strangest cop-based pilot on this list. Enter Robosaurus. Robosaurus is an elaborate, fire-breathing dinosaur robot that shows up at various sporting and social events. It was created by a man named Doug Malewicki in 1989, and has a bunch of genuinely cool robot features, like the ability to move its arms, grab things with its claws, open and close its mouth...of course, the main attraction is that it breathes fire. Robosaurus was so popular in the early 90s that NBC commissioned a pilot about the robot, which aired in 1992. It centred on a man named David Nash, who is heartbroken by the death of his only son. Lucky for Nash, however, his son's Robosaurus toy comes to him in a dream, and teaches him the ability to turn the toy into an actual, real-life crime fighting robot. How could it have failed? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DByafpu-1vw
