You know you're in trouble when it's difficult to consistently, correctly pronounce the name of your television show. Poochinski was a pilot that aired in July of 1990, featuring a police officer (played by Peter Boyle) from Chicago, Illinois. What was so special about this police officer? Oh, not much aside from the fact he was a dog. A bulldog, to be precise one with practically debilitating gastrointestinal wind (he farted a lot). The back story was that Peter Boyle's police officer was killed on duty and his spirit transferred to a nearby dog. Makes sense. There's certainly been plenty of film and television based around dogs before, but...not like this. In those instances it tends to be about tragic accidents or heart-warming companionship not how many fart gags can be pumped out in twenty-one minutes. In the end, NBC decided to pass on poor old Poochinski. And I thought a dog was for life? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LytgLZDzzAY
