8 Creepiest Twin Peaks Moments
4. How's Annie?
The final scene of the series and by proxy, one of its best. FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper awakens from his long night of dreams and danger to see Sheriff Truman standing over him. After a pretty sane conversation between pals, he decides to go and brush his teeth, but then pivots, squirting the paste all over the sink.
Cooper then smashes his head into the mirror, bludgeoning his forehead and revealing his sordid fate. Killer BOB appears on the other side of the mirror, and we realize that our hero Dale's true form is trapped in The Black Lodge, with his BOB-infested doppelganger now roaming the mortal plane.
The refrain of 'How's Annie' echoes around the bathroom, as the evil clone laments the hilarity of his host body's sympathy towards his lost lover.
Like many other scenes in Twin Peaks, the ending credits flash over as Cooper giggles like a maniac (Kyle McLachlan for the next Joker, anyone?) and you're left with a profound cliffhanger and, as the series was cut short, a 25 year wait for fans who watched this harrowing scene upon its release.
