Bradley Walsh joined the cast of Doctor Who for Jodie Whittaker's first season as the Time Lord in 2018's "The Woman Who Fell to Earth." Walsh took on the role of Graham O'Brien, and by most accounts, the veteran actor became a "surprise emotional powerhouse" to the show. Unfortunately, the shooting schedule proved difficult.

In an interview with Mailonline, Walsh explained that his time working on the show was great but exhausting. "We have great fun doing it. But you must sleep and look after yourself because if you don’t, you will come unstuck. This is 10 months of ramming speed. That’s what it is. I’m in my 60th year. It’s tough. It’s hard. It’s relentless. It really is. This ain't an easy gig."

Because of the schedule and its demands on his time, Walsh has chosen to leave the series a bit prematurely. His character will bow out during the Christmas Special set to air in December 2020, but that will be his last outing in the TARDIS.

Walsh's schedule will remain fairly packed after he leaves Doctor Who, as he hosts the ITV quiz show, The Chase. He also presents a travel show with his son Barney and will front a new BBC series, Take Off, in the near future.
