8 Doctor Who Actors Who Were Fired Or Quit
6. Tosin Cole
With Bradley Walsh taking a walk from the long-running science fiction series, the inevitable question follows, what will happen to Ryan Sinclair? Ryan is, of course, played by Tosin Cole, and it seems as if he's going to be taking an early exit with Walsh after the Christmas Special in 2020.
Cole's decision to leave Doctor Who is less about his shooting schedule and more about another opportunity that has presented itself. Cole has booked a major part on 61st Street, a new series that will center around his character, Moses Johnson, who is a promising high school athlete swept up in the Chicago criminal justice system.
Cole's departure from Doctor Who will give him the time he needs to work on 61st Street, but his departure is said to be open-ended. There is a possibility that he will eventually return as Ryan in much the same way Freema Agyeman occasionally returned to reprise her role as Martha Jones.
While Cole and Walsh's departure from the series is all but certain at this point, Mandip Gill‘s Yaz will remain the primary companion going forward. That will leave the Doctor with at least one companion for a bit, but there's no telling how long it will be before another comes along.
