8 Doctor Who Parodies You Didn’t Know Existed

4. Doctor Whooves

Doctor Whooves Doctor Whooves is an equestrian version of the Doctor and exists in the land of Equestria, the queendom in Lauren Faust€™s My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, as a background character that the fans of the show have turned into something of a meme. This four-legged parody is particular of the tenth incarnation of the Doctor as his coat and hair are very reminiscent - in both colour and style - of the pinstripe suit and hairstyle of David Tennant. The pony€™s 'cutie mark' - a symbol that appears on each pony that dictates their destined profession - is an hourglass. According to the show€™s supervising director, Jayson Thiessen, the name €˜Doctor Whooves€™ was given to the pony by the cartoon€™s crew, however the pony€™s name in the programme is (rather disappointly) Time Turner, the Ponyville time keeper. There have been many versions of Doctor Whooves in the background of episodes. The ninth episode of the second season, Sweet and Elite, also showed various versions of Doctor Whooves attending a party. One is wearing a top hat and bow tie, reminiscient of Matt Smith in The Big Bang, another is wearing a red coat and looks strikingly similar to Jon Pertwee€™s Doctor while the third is the David Tennant version fans are most likely to recognise. There are also multiple parodies in the My Little Pony comic books, such as a ponified version of a Weeping Angel and a streetlamp in the colours of the TARDIS. It's those sort of minor details you€™ve really got to appreciate.
