5. How Did 008 Survive The Massacre?
One of the biggest questions that leaves fans scratching their heads is how Eight (aka Kali) survived the massacre at Hawkins lab. Eight's character comes from the reasonably controversial Stranger Things episode from season two, where Eleven meets her again for the first time.
Many viewers spotted that Eight was completely absent from Eleven's flashbacks of Hawkins laboratory and that all of the children died when 001's massacre occurred. That doesn't explain how Eight appeared unharmed, living a life of crime away from Hawkins lab years later in season two. That being said, Eight's superpower was performing illusions, so it's entirely plausible she made herself invisible and escaped before or during 001's frenzy.
But nevertheless, this still hasn't been answered. Presumably, this could be addressed in season five, but don't get your hopes up. This could simply be a plothole that the Duffer Brothers want you to disregard and forget completely.
