8 Quirky Female TV Characters We Love

5. Amy Farrah Fowler - The Big Bang Theory

Big Bang Theory Amy is definitely the most academically accomplished on this list having studied at Harvard University she possesses a PH. D. in Neurobiology (don't worry, we're not totally sure what it means either). She is also Sheldon Cooper's girlfriend (need I say more?!) and met him on an online dating website, only after promising her mother she would date at least once a year so she'd be allowed to use the George Foreman machine. Amy is nerdy and nutty and you can't help but feel for the straight-laced brunette. Who could forget when she admitted the only person to sign her high school year book was her mother, who wrote: 'Dear Amy, self-respect and a hymen are far better than friends and fun.' We all have that "awww" moment for her, especially when she's attempting any kind of intimacy with Sheldon. Amy is fashioned to be predictably unattractive and she is terrible at building relationships, whether with her BFF Penny or frenemy Bernadette, in fact we can't help but feel sympathy for Amy's terrible communication 'skills'! But her clever chat is sharp, unusual and totally one-off.

Quirky Quotes:

€œSheldon and I engaged in sexual intercourse. In other news, I€™m thinking of starting a herb garden.€

€œWe didn€™t want to jeopardise our relationship by getting to know each other too well.€

€œIf you let me pierce your brain with a hot needle in the right place you€™d be happy all the time.€
