8 Reasons The Walking Dead Season 5 Is The Best So Far

6. There's A Lot More Glorious Gore

AMC might be limited in the number of F-bombs they can get away with in The Walking Dead, but no such issues of censorship seem to impede them when it comes to on-screen gore. While you might question (probably rightly) the absurdity of not allowing harmless words when violence and blood-letting is okay, horror fans certainly aren't complaining. Season 5 has already dished up a few excellent doses of splatter horror of a kind rarely seen in the previous four seasons. The season opener alone was a veritable feast of blood and guts, from the chilling throat cutting scene at the hands of the cannibals to the flaming zombie chewing on the face of a screaming victim. On top of that we've had some gruesome scenes of cannibalism with Bob's leg being munched on by Gareth and his cohorts and more brain splattering zombie head shots than you can shake a stick at. Here's to looking forward to more as the series progresses.
