8 Reasons The Walking Dead Season 5 Is The Best So Far

4. The Pace Is Picking Up

As mentioned in the introduction, one of the main criticisms levelled at The Walking Dead is the issues with pacing. When the series loses momentum it often does so in a spectacular fashion, and on more than one occasion many of the more casual viewers have contemplated giving up on it entirely. Fortunately for those who have persevered through the duller moments, season 5 so far appears to have rectified this problem and then some. Far from being slow paced like one of the Walkers, events in the current season have been whizzing along at a great pace, with plenty happening and rarely a moment of boredom for the audience to wallow in. In fact, things could be said to be moving a little too fast - the storyline involving Gareth and the cannibals leading up to Rick's machete-assisted revenge killing in the third episode might even have benefitted from being more drawn out. Still, since we don't know what's coming up next we can be optimistic and assume that far more interesting events are yet to occur.
