8 Most Shockingly Overpaid BBC Presenters

5. Chris Evans - £1 Million A Year - Radio 2 DJ/The One Show

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0IrarhaSbI Chris Evans is a multi-millionaire. He is an ultra savvy businessman and self-made legend. Having read his book, I have some admiration for the guy. His Radio 2 morning show is also fairly decent compared to some of the other tosh on at that time in the morning. As for The One Show, it's a bland 7pm talk show that pretty much any plank of wood could present. The BBC paying Chris a million a year is stunningly bad negotiating on their part. This is a guy they know doesn't need the money. In 2010, he spent £12 million pounds on a vintage Ferrari - a sure fire signal that his million a year at the BBC is more of a token than an actual necessity. The BBC could have played a cooler hand and realized that Evans is working out of a love of exposure and attention. I absolutely believe they could have secured him at a few hundred grand less - having read his book I know that Chris is often more motivated by a love of presenting in the spotlight rather than the number of zeroes at the end of his cheques. Just imagine how many license fees have to add up before this famous ginger is paid for the year.
