8 Most Shockingly Overpaid BBC Presenters

4. Graham Norton - £1.3 Million A Year - Chat Show Host/Radio 2 Broadcaster

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nitLtsarXC4 Fourteen years ago he was a hilarious cutting edge act for Channel 4. Nowadays, Graham Norton has been well and truly BBC-ified - he is a watered down and generic personality who is being paid as if he is still a star. Now in his fifties, his sick brand of humour just doesn't hold the same appeal as it did during his youthful vibrancy. He has become - for lack of a better term - old hat. The case of Norton being overpaid only starts with his contract. The guests on his show are regularly A-listers, such as Rihanna and Lady Gaga. I'm pretty sure they won't be coming cheap. The overall budget for the Graham Norton Show is bound to far exceed the £1.3 million figure that Norton himself rakes in. The fact he is overpaid isn't just my opinion, however - the man himself admits it. "We are overpaid, absolutely, but to have your salary publicised, that's just rude," he states in The Telegraph. "Television pays big fees, some would say ridiculously big, but let's leave it there. Why go into the details? As I say, it's rude." Norton goes on to grumble. The fact that the BBC's own talent admit they are overpaid is damning - the recipients of our money are admitting to their employer that they are ripping us off. Perhaps the BBC took note in this case? Norton's salary was cut from £2.5 million to £1.3 million shortly after he made such comments.
