8 Shows To Fill That Mr. Robot Shaped Hole In Your Life

3. Giri/Haji

This Japanese/British thriller was something of a sleeper hit last year, but it deserves every bit of your attention. Following detective Kenzo Mori as he leaves Japan, undercover, in order to try and locate his Yakuza brother who has long been assumed dead. Giri/Haji (Duty/Shame) is a twisted show and a perfectly structured thriller that drip feeds you just enough information about its central mystery to keep you wanting more.

It also boasts an incredible cast of characters with exceptional depth. All sympathetic, all with more flaws than you could hope to count, and all, or most, always have the best intentions. But you know what they say about good intentions and the road to hell, right?

Giri/Haji is also stunning to look at and could give Tarantino a run for his money in terms of style. The creators take a lot of gambles throughout the show which, at first glance, run the risk of being cheesetastic, but they pull every single one off. Also, no spoilers, but there's a thing... just a thing, you guys. And... goddamn! You'll know it when you see it, trust me.
