8 True Blood Characters Who Deserved A Better Ending

8. Sophie-Anne

The television counterpart of Queen Sophie-Anne Leclerq didn€™t faithfully reconstruct the 15-year-old fan favourite vampire from the novels. In the books Sophie-Anne is introduced in the sixth novel €˜Definitely Dead€™ and makes her final appearance two novels later in €˜From Dead to Worse€™. She is ruthless, manipulative, vindictive and entirely captivating. Evan Rachel Wood€™s take on the character was none of the above. Yes, she was beautiful, but we didn€™t get to see the full extent of the character manifest. She showed hints of extreme cunning, but she was all too easily thwarted by Russell and Eric whereas in the books she showed greater power. Yes, True Blood was famous for altering characters from the source novels, but Sophie-Anne was a character that was wasted. She had so much potential. It is Sophie-Anne we have to be thankful to, for otherwise True Blood wouldn€™t have happened at all; she is, after all, the sole reason Bill returned to Bon Temps. And perhaps it is believable that Bill killed Sophie-Anne because of his love for Sookie, but Sophie-Anne had promise. She could have been a bigger threat than Russell. No other female vampires have showed such aptitude, and to kill her prematurely (in a flashback) was a wasted opportunity on the writer€™s behalf. She didn€™t even return in flashbacks during the final season. The perfect ending for her as a character would have seen her hooking up with Pam. Those two sassy vamps with an attitude would have made an hilarious coupling.
